The Advanced Configurable Avionics System (ACAS) Infrastructure
The International Test Pilots School (ITPS) invests in a wide spectrum of technologies to better prepare our flight test and tactical students for future challenges. The Advanced Configurable Avionics System (ACAS) infrastructure is a key and unique asset being added to the fleet at ITPS, elevating our student experiential training to higher levels. The ACAS will provide a training environment better suited to the technologies of tomorrow, today.
The ACAS operates in conjunction with the Advanced Controls Evaluator (ACE) utilising an upgraded L39 Albatros, both developed and operated by the ITPS in-house engineering team, supporting flight test crew training by enabling students to rapidly evaluate a wide variety of flying qualities and advanced flight control systems. The International Tactical Training Centre (ITTC) continues redefining the training pipeline, with the opportunities presented with the ACAS infrastructure for tactical training and scenarios.
