Panos A. Vitsas Ph.D. Receives SFTE Director’s Award

Panos A. Vitsas Ph.D. was honoured with the 2023 Directors Award at this year’s Society of Flight Test Engineers Annual Symposium hosted by the Pax River Chapter. This prestigious award is given to a Society member who has contributed significant and lasting efforts towards the society’s welfare, stature, leadership or membership. Panos is an SFTE Senior Member, a former Vice President of the Society and the current President of the SFTE Canadian Chapter. He has presented technical papers and has been a member of several technical paper judging committees at various flight test symposia.

Originally a sponsored flight test engineering intern at ITPS (2012B), he has made significant contributions to the Academics team and is currently the Chief Academic Officer and Flight Test Engineer Instructor. Using his impressive academic background, Panos has developed classroom and flight curriculum for a number of courses and has led the establishment of our Master of Science in Flight Test Engineering and our Master of Science in Flight Testing degrees.
