ITPS Canada Founder Giorgio Clementi Named to Canada’s Aviation Hall of Fame Class of 2027
Recognition honours contributions to aerospace education, flight testing and technological innovation
LONDON, Ontario, October 14, 2026 – ITPS Canada is proud to announce that its founder, Executive Chairman and Chief Technology Officer, Giorgio Clementi, has been named to Canada’s Aviation Hall of Fame Class of 2027, recognizing his outstanding contributions to Canadian aviation, aerospace education and technological innovation.
An internationally recognized experimental test pilot, aerospace entrepreneur, engineer and educator, Clementi established ITPS Canada in 2001 and subsequently developed two internationally respected institutions: the International Test Pilots School (ITPS) and the International Tactical Training Centre (ITTC). Together, these institutions have attracted pilots, engineers and military aviation professionals from around the world to Canada for advanced flight test education and tactical training.
Under his leadership, ITPS has also become a postgraduate degree-granting institution, offering Master of Science degrees in flight testing and flight test engineering.
Clementi’s commitment to aerospace innovation has led to the development of advanced research and training aircraft, including the Adaptive Handling Qualities Aircraft, the 5th Gen Surrogate Training Aircraft (5STA) and the Advanced Controls Evaluator (ACE). More recently, ITPS has introduced COGNITIV6, a pioneering application of artificial intelligence and machine learning to flight testing, pilot performance assessment and advanced aviation training.
His contributions have received significant international recognition, including the 2022 Tony LeVier Flight Test Safety Award from the Society of Experimental Test Pilots, the 2022 Kelly Johnson Award from the Society of Flight Test Engineers, and the 2025 James H. Doolittle Award for outstanding technical and engineering management.
“I am deeply honoured to be inducted into Canada’s Aviation Hall of Fame. When Beverley and I brought our family to Canada, we found a country that welcomed us and gave us the opportunity to pursue our ambitions and build something meaningful. Canada has provided extraordinary opportunities for the Clementi family, both personally and professionally, and for that I will always be profoundly grateful,” said Clementi.
“What we have achieved at ITPS is not the work of one individual. It is the result of the dedication, talent and commitment of an exceptional team of engineers, pilots, instructors, technicians and professionals who have helped build institutions that are respected around the world. I am immensely proud of what we have accomplished together, and particularly proud that we have been able to contribute to Canada’s international reputation for excellence in aerospace education, flight testing and innovation. To receive this recognition from the country that gave my family so much is a very special honour.”
The induction recognizes more than two decades of Clementi’s contribution to developing Canada’s aerospace capabilities, establishing internationally recognized centers of excellence and advancing innovation in flight testing and military aviation training.
ITPS Canada congratulates Giorgio Clementi on this distinguished honour and looks forward to celebrating his induction in 2027.
