ITPS Fixed Wing students recently experienced world-class flight test training at CAE’s Simulation Facility near Toronto International Airport. Fixed Wing Flight Test Instructors Alain Lacharité and Dave Lohse leveraged their previous experience conducting flight test activities on Boeing 777-300ER and other large, transport category aircraft to develop and validate training sessions in CAE’s Boeing 777-300ER Full-Flight Simulator.

Students gained firsthand experience with flight test techniques used to safely determine Vmu (Minimum Unstick Speed), Vmcg (Minimum Control Speed on the Ground), High-Speed Characteristics and in-flight engine shutdown and relight testing. The high-fidelity, full-motion simulators at CAE’s Flight Training Facility provide immersive training for our students in higher-risk flight test techniques, reinforcing the requirement for a disciplined, build-up approach in a safe environment.
