Mark joined ITPS (Canada) Ltd. after a distinguished 31-year career as a pilot in the British Army. He began flying the Gazelle helicopter in observation and reconnaissance roles, later transitioning to the Lynx in the anti-tank role. A 2003 graduate of the Empire Test Pilots’ School (ETPS), Mark played a key role in introducing the Apache AH-64D into British Army service. His test work included natural icing trials, ship operating limits, and high-altitude handling qualities testing in support of Afghanistan operations.
As Project Test Pilot for the Apache, Mark led critical evaluations before assuming command of the Army’s Operational Evaluation Squadron, delivering rapid prototype testing across all Army aircraft. From 2009 to 2012, he returned to ETPS as the Army’s Test Pilot Instructor and Principal Tutor.
Mark then completed a five-year exchange tour with the U.S. Army and Boeing in Alabama, where he conducted performance, flying qualities, and systems testing on the Apache AH-64E. As Test Director and Pilot, he oversaw the Modernized Target Acquisition Designation Sight and Fire Control Radar testing for the AH-64E Version 6.
Upon returning to the UK, Mark became Program Manager for the UK’s Apache AH-64E V6 acquisition, leading the team responsible for bringing the aircraft into service. He holds both EASA and FAA flight licenses and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cranfield University.
