Amit is a former Israeli Air Force (IAF) helicopter pilot with nearly three decades of aviation experience, having accumulated over 5,000 flying hours across 30 aircraft types. After graduating with honours from the IAF’s Flight Academy in 1995, he began his career as a CH-53D pilot. Amit later became a Senior Flight Instructor at the IAF’s Flight Academy and flew over 2,000 hours using Night Vision Goggles (NVGs).
Amit graduated from the U.S. Naval Test Pilot School (USNTPS) in 2010 and became a Rotary Wing Test Pilot. Over the next twelve years at the IAF’s Flight Test Centre (FTC), he became the chief test pilot for the heavy-lift helicopter program, working with the CH-47F/MH-47G and CH-53K helicopters. His work included testing advanced flight control systems, avionics, and conducting high-risk training programs such as autorotation and shipboard landings.
In addition to his extensive flight experience, Amit holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Philosophy from Tel-Aviv University, where he graduated with honours.
