ITPS Students Fly the Legendary T-33 T-Bird

October 22, 2025

Our students had the privilege of flying the legendary T-33 T-Bird.
Exposure to vintage aircraft is a vital component of the test pilot curriculum, as it vividly illustrates the trade-offs between performance and flying qualities that were made at different points in aviation history. These experiences deepen understanding of how to identify and address aircraft deficiencies—an essential skill for any test pilot.

Unlike modern jets, these classic machines demand a higher level of finesse and attention, making them more challenging to fly. That’s why the smiles on our students’ faces are as wide as the satisfaction of taming a thoroughbred—an unforgettable milestone in their journey.
