ITPS Head of UAS Training and Operations, Michael K Mulquiney, and Deputy, Gustavo Ulloa, with the latest addition to the ITPS RPAS Fleet – the Freespace Operations Callisto 50 heavy-lift multirotor RPAS.
Formal Flight Test Verification and Validation of uncertified aircraft systems is a critical enabler for operations in the Medium (>25 kg) weight classification. International regulators require OEMs to demonstrate the safety and reliability of RPAS at these higher operating weights to enable more complex missions such as Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS), operations in controlled airspace, and flights near or over people—all while maintaining rigorous flight safety standards.
Michael is conducting the Return to Flight Service operational check on the Callisto 50 in London, Ontario, Canada, with Gustavo supporting extensive pre-flight inspections as part of a comprehensive verification program designed to validate the system against manufacturer specifications.
As one of only eight globally recognized flight test institutions, ITPS Canada is uniquely positioned to provide this service to Original Equipment Manufacturers, offering trusted third-party assurance to both international regulators and customers.
