Giorgio Clementi Receives Prestigious J.H. Doolittle Award
We are proud to share that Giorgio Clementi, Executive Chairman of the International Test Pilots School (ITPS), was announced as this year’s recipient of the prestigious J.H. Doolittle Award from the Society of Experimental Test Pilots (SETP) at the 69th Annual Symposium and Banquet, held on Saturday evening in Anaheim.
This award recognises Giorgio’s outstanding technical management and engineering achievement in aerospace technology, demonstrated through over three decades of leadership, innovation, and passionate dedication to flight test education. He joins a very distinguished group of past award recipients.
Under Giorgio’s vision and leadership, ITPS has grown from a small team to a globally respected organisation with over 170 staff, training graduates from more than 25 NATO and allied forces, as well as numerous civil aerospace companies. His pioneering work, including the development of cutting-edge flight test training solutions like the 5th Generation Surrogate Training Aircraft (5STA) and the Advanced Controls Evaluator (ACE) In-Flight Variable Stability Simulator (VSS), continues to shape the next generation of flight test professionals.
Giorgio is a Fellow of both the Society of Experimental Test Pilots and the Society of Flight Test Engineers, a rare achievement. His contributions to flight test safety and innovation were previously recognised in 2022 when he received both the Tony LeVier Flight Test Safety Award and the Kelly Johnson Award for outstanding flight test achievement.
Please join us in congratulating Giorgio on this well-deserved recognition of his lifelong contributions to aerospace and flight test.
