ITPS Canada Partners with SYPAQ Systems

July 23, 2025

SYPAQ and ITPS enabling the future of RPAS Training

23rd July 2025 – SYPAQ is pleased to announce they have signed a partnering agreement with the International Test Pilots School (ITPS) in Canada, which will enable collaborative flight training programs and utilisation of SYPAQ’s Corvo family of Small Uncrewed Aerial Systems (SUAS) within ITPS’s world-leading UAS Flight Testing and Advanced Operator training packages.

This exciting new approach to combining Remote Pilot training with the ever-evolving UAS market will see an increased level of utilisation of SYPAQ SUAS globally, whilst expanding upon ITPS’s trusted training services, with a focus on collaboration into NATO, AUKUS and Allied nations.

Initial focus for the combined SYPAQ/ITPS RPAS training capability is optimising knowledge and utilisation of both the battlespace-proven Corvo PPDS “cardboard drone”, and the Corvo X next generation military grade SUAS being delivered under the Australian Defence Force DEF129 SUAS program. Corvo X features an innovative, thrust vectored Vertical Take Off and Landing configuration that delivers class leading endurance in extreme weather conditions. The lightweight, man packable system, coupled with advanced autonomy, payload, and encrypted mesh network capabilities, reduces the physical and cognitive load on the operator enhancing mission safety, flexibility and performance.

“It is an incredible time to be working on new ways to deliver world-leading SUAS technologies like Corvo X and PPDS, and this collaboration with ITPS shows how important trusted and dynamic partnerships are to provide both the technological and training advantage to our international Defence Force partners” said Amanda Holt, SYPAQ CEO. “In a world with continually changing capability demands, we are absolutely delighted to have partnered with ITPS who have the integrity and proven global capabilities that are key to what this partnership is looking to achieve.”

Pivotal to this collaboration is the inclusion of Corvo PPDS into the current ITPS SUAS Training program, with Corvo X forecast for inclusion into the program in 2026 following its introduction into service with the ADF. “ITPS Canada remains focused on our vision of being the preferred flight test and tactical training partner for Canada and our NATO allied partners. The evolution of a UAS Division founded on strategic partnerships with key global UAS manufacturers is fundamental to the change ITPS is delivering to industry. We stand by our people, our services and our products” stated David Lohse, CEO of ITPS Canada.

This new partnership further supports confidence in SYPAQ’s export capability which has successfully delivered the Precision Payload Delivery System (PPDS) “Cardboard Drone” to multiple global customers, underpinned by local support from trusted partners including Tanglewood Group (UK), AUSTRADE and the Australian Defence Export Control Office (DECO). This global reach is further enhanced by ITPS’s status as an Approved Supplier for the Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC), the contracting agency of the Government of Canada, enabling ITPS to offer and deliver its full range of training services through Government to Government (G2G) contracts.
