For the last four months, ITPS Canada has partnered with the University of Waterloo under the Collaborative Aeronautics Program course, where a group of four postgraduate students investigated the combination of novel methods like Functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS), speech analysis and eye tracking towards the evaluation of pilot workload. During the project, the students worked around data provided by the ITPS Advanced Aircraft Simulation Center and were supervised by ITPS Chief Academic Officer Dr. Panos Vitsas. The ITPS collaboration with the University of Waterloo and the Waterloo Institute of Sustainable Aeronautics will be continuing to accommodate further research projects.
