ITPS Wraps up at SFTE Annual Symposium

October 21, 2025

And that’s a wrap! The Society of Flight Test Engineers Annual Symposium in Savannah, Georgia, was once again a tremendous success. The event featured excellent technical presentations from Tuesday through Thursday. Our own Dr. David Ostler, Chief Academic Officer, provided valuable insights during a panel discussion exploring the realities of risk in flight testing — along with the challenges and successes that come with it.

At last night’s awards dinner, we were pleased to see John Maris, Ph.D. receive the Kelly Johnson Award for outstanding achievement in flight test. A short course scholarship provided by ITPS was also awarded to James Maxwell (Electra.aero), who looks forward to reviewing our catalogue and choosing which ITPS short course he’ll pursue in 2026.

Altogether, a fantastic event capped off by an interesting tour of Gulfstream Aerospace today here in Savannah.
