Avionics / Electrical Product Development Engineer

About the Occupation:
- Interface and collaborate with internal customers to understand the requirements for aircraft modifications
- Prepare Engineering Change Orders and document the agreed scope
- Plan the modification, including risk analysis and pre-mod aircraft status
- Prepare design reviews
- Create block diagrams for avionics systems
- EWIS
- Size and design the power distribution for avionics systems
- Create wiring diagrams
- Define connectors and wiring harness routings considering project-specific constraints
- Configure/program avionics systems
- Perform lab setups and tests with electrical/electronic hardware
- Troubleshoot systems on the bench and in the aircraft
- Perform other engineering analyses of the design, including electrical load analysis
- Plan for ground and flight tests, including electrical-magnetic interference tests
- Write Technical Orders and document the design
- Produce 2D and 3D CAD drawings
- Give oversight of parts fabrication and modification implementation
- Conduct in-service assessment for continued airworthiness
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager
Requirements:
- Must have at least 3 years of aerospace industry experience. Must be very comfortable issuing wiring diagrams and all related electrical design analyses
- Must be comfortable with AutoCAD
- 3D design experience is beneficial
- Passionate about a career in aviation, engineering and producing innovative solutions to real-world industry requirements
- Self-starter and self-motivated individual who can work under no supervision
- Teamwork is essential
