The International Test Pilots School (ITPS) Canada offers training to military, industry and government organizations who wish to qualify test pilots and engineers for experimental, developmental, procurement and civil certification flight test programs.

A range of courses is offered, a number of these may be presented at the customer's site where appropriate.

Special training programs may be developed on demand to assess specific customer requirements.

Details for each program listed below will be forwarded upon request.

GRADUATE TEST PILOT AND FLIGHT TEST ENGINEER COURSE
This program is 48 weeks in duration and prepares test pilot and flight test engineer candidates to undertake experimental flight testing. Training is available for fixed wing or rotary wing specialists. Program includes 120 flight hours of practical flight test exercises and test techniques demonstrations on approximately 20 aircraft types. It consists of three distinct phases, each covering Performance, Stability and Control and Avionics Systems testing respectively. End of phase flight test exercises present students with the opportunity to apply the knowledge and experience gained on unfamiliar and challenging aircraft.

FLIGHT TEST DIPLOMA COURSE
This program is 26 weeks in duration. It is aimed at establishments that do not require the full military flight test course and wish to focus the training on avionics and weapon systems testing or civil aircraft certification. Training is available for fixed wing or rotary wing specialists. Program includes 50 flight hours of practical flight test exercises and test techniques demonstrations on approximately 10 aircraft types. It consists of a combined Performance, Stability and Control Phase and an Avionics and weapons Systems testing phase. End of phase flight test exercises present students with the opportunity to apply the knowledge and experience gained on unfamiliar and challenging aircraft.

AVIONICS SYSTEMS FLIGHT TEST COURSE
This five week course is suitable for pilots and engineers who are about to be involved in avionics and/or weapon systems, upgrades. Systems flight test exercises provide an opportunity to gain practical experience of systems flight test planning, data gathering and analisys under the supervision of ITPS instructors. The course includes a number of aircraft and simulator based exercises, spanning a range of military and civil systems.

SHIP HELICOPTER OPERATING LIMITS
A two week course which provides an understanding of the flight tests required to define the Ship Helicopter Operating limits for a given helicopter and ship combination. The course is suitable for operational pilots and engineers or qualified test pilots and flight test engineers wishing to gain information on how to plan and conducts these trials.

NIGHT VISION SYSTEMS ASSESSMENT
A two week course providing insight into Night Vision Systems testing. The course includes lectures on systems operating principles, cockpit compatibility testing. The theory is applied during a practical exercise assessing an NVG compatible cockpit

WEAPONS TESTING
A two week course on weapons testing including carriage and release trials utilizing a fully instrumented test range. Delegates receive lectures on weapon types, ground and flight tests, test techniques and data analisys. The theory is put to practice during a realistic test exercise.
